This WG defines a set of Communication Function Blocks according to IEC 61131-3 for the communication among programmable controllers and smart field devices over PROFIBUS and the guidelines for the usage of these Function Blocks.

Status:

The guideline V1.2 was published in 7/2001.
There were no activities in 2002, 2003 and 2004.

In 2005 the WG specified an universal and common set of "Communication Function Blocks on PROFIBUS DP and PROFINET IO" based on the existing guideline and published it as guideline V2.0.

For 2006 no further activities are currently planned.
