The intention of this WG is to define standard mechanisms for integrating weighing and dosage devices into PROFIBUS DP networks. Functions, parameters, interfaces and services will be defined. The set of services used is defined in IEC 61158-5 PROFIBUS DP.

In 2003 the WG worked at the Weighing & Dosage Profile Guidelines V1.0. A multi-vendor demo was prepared.

In 2004 the WG finalized parts "a" and "b" of profile version 1.0 and worked at "Generic PWB for controllers (PLCs)". Together with WG9 "Identification Systems" a multi-vendor demo was shown at SPS/IPC/Drives fair.

In 2005 the WG worked at part "c" of profile version 1.0.

In 2006 thw WG will finish profile part "c".
