The laboratory device working group of DECHEMA has developed a fieldbus independent laboratory profile which is based on PROFIBUS profiles particularly the PROFIBUS PA profile. The draft standard DIN V 12900 is available and it is requested that a PROFIBUS mapping of the profile is provided and integrated in the range of PROFIBUS profiles.

In 2005 PROFIBUS INTERNATIONAL organized a workshop together with Dechema and Spectaris. The results lead to a call for experts.

In January 2006 the kick-off-meeting will happen.
