PI (PROFIBUS & PROFINET International) will be presenting a new machine building demonstration at the joint PI stand in Hall 9/D68 at the 2025 Hanover Trade Show. The innovative trade show model combines an advanced conveyor platform with a high-precision robot application—a recurring challenge which always requires further development for compliance with increasing demands.

The conveyor platform is based on SuperTrak technology, which enables highly dynamic and precise movement through the use of magnet technology and boasts great flexibility as well. Here, individually controllable shuttles are moved on a transport rail by linear motors. The swivel arm robot is coordinated with these transport movements with a pick and place application. The integration of PROFINET, PROFIdrive and PROFIsafe ensures reliable and secure communication which forms the basis both in the individual sub-areas and in the interaction between components.

The interaction of PI technologies enables optimal coordination of all movements and ensures that processes are safe.

Automation technology is being further developed with PROFINET and the corresponding profiles and applications. A combination of advanced technology, high precision and extensive compatibility makes PROFINET the preferred solution for demanding industrial applications.
