Signing and Certification of FDI Packages
The PI Test Laboratory ifak e.V. Magdeburg tests FDI packages for PROFINET and PROFIBUS devices.
The PNO has set up a certification office that enables all device manufacturers to sign and certify the FDI package tested by ifak e.V.. A signed FDI package ensures both its authenticity and its integrity.
The test laboratory sends the tested FDI package and the FDI package test report directly to the certification office. The manufacturer can apply to the certification office for a certificate for the FDI package. The FDI package is then also signed and sent to the manufacturer together with the certificate.

Certification and signing of FDI packages are free of charge for PI members.
The certification costs for non-members are listed in the application andin this document.Signing is free of charge.
Certificates are valid for 3 years. After the expiry date, the certificates must be renewed. Apply for an extension within 3 months before the expiry date using the application form linked above.
